Hi! My name is Courtney Nowicki and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My primary focus is working with PTSD and those who have experienced trauma, but also work often with OCD, anxiety, grief, family/relationship issues, and depression. I am most passionate about helping those who have survived sexual assault/abuse, but am able and open to work with a variety of ages and challenges.
I operate from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective and believe in looking at the whole person and systems of their lives. I treat my clients with respect and compassion, hoping to create an open, trusting, and non-judgmental environment where we can explore what is important. You are the expert on yourself/your family and I am here to walk alongside you to help you make connections and gain insight, look deeper to identify/overcome emotional blocks and unhelpful patterns, work toward healing, and reach your goals. My hope is that you will feel seen, empowered, and know you are worthy. I enjoy incorporating the Christian faith when able, but have an open style to serve other beliefs as well.

Education and Career Background:
I received my Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and my Master's of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Addictions from Indiana University South Bend. I have a diverse background which includes volunteering/working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking who were in crisis. I also had practicums in a community mental health setting and doing trauma social work in a hospital. Most recently before here, I was a therapist for a non-profit agency where I worked with children, adolescents, and adults individually, as couples, and as families.
I have specialized training in helping survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. I am also trained in the following evidence-based practices: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Family Centered Treatment (FCT), and Nurturing Parenting (NP). Thank you for taking the time to learn about me! I would be honored to work with you.
