Hi, I'm Heather, a licensed clinical social worker (LSW) with over seven years of experience walking alongside people through some of life's most challenging moments. I earned my Master of Social Work from Indiana University South Bend in 2022 and have had the privilege of working with teens, adults, families, and individuals navigating addiction, crisis, health challenges, foster care, and more. As a veteran's spouse, I have a deep appreciation for the unique experiences and challenges that military families navigate, and I welcome those clients with open arms. I bring that same realness into my practice, because I think the best therapeutic relationships feel less like an appointment and more like having someone genuinely in your corner. No matter the setting, my approach has always been the same: meet you where you are, without judgment.
My desire to do this work is deeply personal. There was a time in my own life when I needed someone in my corner; someone to listen, validate, advocate, and help me find my own strength. That experience shapes how I show up for my clients. I draw on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Triple P Parenting to offer care that is warm, practical, and grounded in who you already are. I believe real progress starts with the basics; making sure your foundational needs are met before we dig into the deeper work, because you deserve a solid footing to stand on.
When I'm not in session, you'll find me outside in the warmer months with family playing yard, bird watching, taking care of my plants or at the poolside with my husband and two kids. Colder months you can find me playing video games, cooking while singing and dancing, coloring, or switching between reality TV to turn my brain off and documentaries when I'm ready to feed it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read a little about me, it truly means the world that you're here. I am honored to be considered as part of your journey and I look forward to walking alongside you.
